An excellent book. Honest, shocking yet very entertaining. Read it in one sitting.
Chad Faries' account of his childhood brings to mind THIS BOY'S LIFE with its unsentimental blend of humor, insight, and honesty.
This is a terrible book. It is just full of foul language and graphic details that did not need to be in there to tell the story!
I read this book because it mostly took place in my home town. I had to skim parts of it because it was too out there for me. Couldn't tell if some parts really happened, were made up for shock value, or a product of drug induced fantasy. It amazes me that the author actually lived this story and turned out to be a writer and poet.
Riveting account of a young boy's memories, living amongst women who partied hard, played hard, loved hard and moved from place to place whenever a new and inevitable problem arose. Amazing talented writing, so very descriptive, I felt like I was on his life journey as well. Thank you for sharing your memories.
